Fraction Pairs

This maths teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to practise using the symbols for less than and greater than to compare pairs of unit and non-unit fractions. The class can divide sets of rectangles to illustrate different fractions so that their values can be compared.

Learning Objectives

Recognise and show, using diagrams, equivalent fractions with small denominators. Compare non-unit fractions by the value of the numerators and denominators.

Learning Outcomes

I can use diagrams to compare pairs of fractions. I can compare the value of fractions using the symbols for less than and greater than.
