Triangle Angle Sums

This maths teaching pack for Key Stage Two gets the children to identify and calculate the size of the different angles that can be found in a range of triangular shapes. The children can use number calculations to record angles to match a sum of one hundred and eighty degrees.

Download this teaching pack including a lesson plan, classroom activities and an interactive presentation to teach the children to identify and calculate the size of the different angles that can be found in a range of triangular shapes

Learning Objectives

Compare and classify geometric shapes based on their properties and find unknown angles in any triangles. Calculate acute and obtuse angles in shapes.

Learning Outcomes

I can differentiate between 2D shapes based on their angles. I can calculate the value of acute and obtuse angles in shapes.

Triangles (support)

Activity to help the children practise calculating the size of angles in different triangular shapes using addition and subtraction calculations

Triangles (core)

Activity to help the children practise calculating the size of angles in different triangular shapes using addition and subtraction calculations

Triangles (extension)

Activity to help the children practise calculating the size of angles in different triangular shapes using addition and subtraction calculations

Triangle Angle Sums

Interactive activity to help the children identify and calculate the size of the different angles that can be found in a range of triangular shapes
